What is a commercial mortgage?

A commercial mortgage can be used to purchase a building which is used for commercial use, i.e. a shop, a factory, a warehouse etc. In essence a commercial mortgage is a mortgage which allows you to buy business premises.

Rates are typically higher than a residential mortgage as the lender is seen to be taking more of a risk lending money to a business.
